About this privacy statement and use of your personal information (Statement)

This Statement describes how we, AccessOncology Pty Ltd (ACN 633 837 902) trading as Science to Life (us, we, our), collect, use, handle and disclose your personal information in connection with your access and use of our CPD4MedProfessional website and related platforms, applications and processes (collectively, our CPD System). Personal information we collect will be treated strictly in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act), and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and our Privacy Policy.


Collection of your personal information and deidentified patient information

We collect personal information about you (eg. your name, contact details and other relevant information about you) so that we can create user profiles and provide you with access and use of our CPD System.
You must take all reasonable steps to ensure that personal information of patients submitted to our CPD System has been appropriately deidentified. Where required by the Privacy Act and APPs, you must obtain a patient's consent prior to entering their personal information or sensitive information (such as their health information) into our CPD System.

'Deidentification' of patient information means that the information where any identifying information, such as names, addresses, or other personal information, is removed so that individuals cannot be identified from the information.

We take all reasonable steps to ensure that the patient information we collect is deidentified in accordance with the Privacy Act and APPs. The deidentified patient information we collect may include but is not limited to medical diagnoses, treatment history and other related information.
We may use and/or provide access to aggregated deidentified patient information and data to third parties for the purposes of:
(a) enabling insight into treatment patterns;
(b) improving healthcare and clinical practices and patient outcomes;
(c) enabling the development of research, studies, statistical analyses, modelling and reports; and
(d) enhancing medical knowledge through publication of journal, articles and/or other materials.
It is not possible to identify individuals from the aggregated deidentified patient information or data.
We collect sensitive information from you. Sensitive information is information or an opinion about an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious beliefs or affiliations, philosophical beliefs, membership of a professional or trade association/trade union, sexual preferences, criminal record and health information about an individual.

Disclosure of your personal information
We may disclose your personal information to third parties, such as medical or healthcare professionals, research organisations and organisations who provide services to us in connection with our CPD System. We may also disclose your personal information to regulatory bodies, where this is required by law.
We usually do not send personal information outside of Australia. However, in some situations, we may disclose personal information to overseas recipients, located in New Zealand.
